“In the course of events…”
We’ve all heard this phrase. Things happened and then there was a result. There is a line between Point A and Point B and we either can’t describe or choose not to describe what happened in that line, at least for now. It’s like there’s a black box between A and B with all the answers untold.
Sort of like getting from writer to author.
I’ve read “How to Get A(n) X” articles, be it an agent, editor, or critique partner. I’ve asked people about the process, but many of these answers are coming from already-successful writers.
I am an unpublished writer of YA fantasy who is branching out to short stories and the occasional attempt at freelance. While I would love for this blog to showcase my published writing (and we will get to that point eventually), I have also realized that there seems to be this black box between writing something and getting it published.
This blog will take you (and me) through the whole process of becoming a successful novel author as we delve into that black box and see how one writer goes from unpublished nobody to having her name on a book you would pay for.
But, that’s going to take some time. So, in the meantime, this blog will be updated twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays with various posts on my personal writing process and progress, cool things I read elsewhere, book reviews, and other writing-related topics.
